your state D.O.T. surely knows about this and michigan allows heavier load than most of the country. while you may not think they are allowed to run that heavy whatever they are running I am sure the state knows about them. its called interstate commerce.
I have a suggestion, you may want to contact your state govt on this , it seems you have an issue. they can point you in the right direction for answers. it may not be what you want to hear but thats politics, you cant please everyone because its the way things get done, life has to be done a certain way sometimes maybe for temporary and maybe you can get some insight but you wont find a valid answer on here.
