Absolutely they can sell an 8 year old vehicle like that. Did it ever occur to you the owner prior to the dealer did that repair to the converter? You are 100 percent liable for all costs, no if ands or buts. I can weld one in for you for 250.00

not really illegal but it does not matter, has a 8yr 80k warranty on emissions, but if they wont fix it I can weld in a new one for 200.00

should have brought it to your mechanic and have him or her check it over for you before you bought it.
