Collecting hotwheel cars and noticed a lightning bolt on bottom are different?

My husband was just wondering what the lightning bolts of different means on the underside of cars. Some are gold, silver and others don 't has c'? ne way. ? pi? there better be some cars that gather others? Thanks for your help!

    nothing that i know of
    but my little boy has about 400 matchbox and hot wheels cars some are over 40 years old i think so somebody give her a good ans because i would like to know too

    Without seeing the specific car I cant give specifics. I think what you have is cars made by Johnny Lightning. In the late 60’s early 70’s Topper made these. The quaility compared to Hot Wheels and Matchbox was pretty poor. I have no idea how collectable these are. I think they are junk. Some of them may have a slot for a race track that was also offered. A tab went into the slot so the car could be launched at the top of a ramp, a friend of mine had one. Ten or fifteen years ago the name resurfaced as part of Playing Mantis. They have offered movie cars, and various other themes. The quaility of these is second to none and the detail for cars in this price range is excellent. The price is usually higher than Hotwheels and Matchbox but I think they are well worth it.
