I have a really difficult to conduct a truck. The view of the road is so different. I need to know what trucks are capable, but much lower to the ground.

93% of all pickup trucks (those with 6/8 cyclinder motors) drive like a car, except when towing. Even cars, while towing, don’t drive like cars, due to the weight factor. While towing a trailer, visibility is very important and the manner in which you drive. From your statement, it sounds like you only drive the truck when towing the horse trailer. I suggest you drive it more often, without the trailer, to get use to the visibility. Confidence in handling your truck will make you a better driver, especially when towing.

despite claims, no truck drives like a car. the towing weight will be the critical factor. you will need a type 3 hitch with an electric brake setup. a small truck cant do the job. if there is a horse farm nearby, you could get help from them.

There is a “car” that drives like a “truck” to still see the road.
It is called a “Hummer.” And comes in different sizes.

ummmmm, all trucks are high off the ground, you could try a honda ridgeline but you would be pushing its towing limit

sorry but any truck can tow a two horse trailer… but small is harder to handle… drive slower

look for an older Toyota Tundra
they were about 5% smaller than regular size pickup trucks
the ride is great and the V8 engine is very smooth.
the ONLY 32 valve overhead cam V8 in a pickup.
the hood & front end are not huge like the Ford & Dodge offering a better view and less of that big truck feeling.

Dodge Ram, Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500 will work for you. All three are quality trucks and will tow a two horse trailer with no problems.

You shouldn’t skimp on the size and towing capacity of the vehicle when you are considering towing live cargo. If you are uncomfortable driving a truck, then you should not be towing horses- it’s a whole ‘nother kettle of fish and risking your horses and others around you is not a good idea. If anything you need to get comfortable in a good full size pickup in all driving conditions- not just those you think you might haul in. Remember, people will always drive stupider when you are hauling horses!
